Hi, i was looking on eBay at some grills for a saxo mk2. and came across these, i was wondering what the gaps at the top off them are for as the Dimma ones dont have this???

to get to the latch to actually open the bonnet, well one on the right anyway, left one to make it look semetrical i guess

oh yea, lol. that makes sense. so how the hell do you open your bonnet on the other ones like dimma because they are completely meshed????

pretty sure you don't get mesh with your dimma, but if you do people just cut a hole like the ones on eBay you have linked to

well....you could also....take the latch off on the inside of the bonnet....just a case of popping it from the inside and then pull it up. not that safe though at a guess

wouldn't do any harm imo... its only to stop the bonnet flicking up if you accidetally pop it on the move I reckon lol

yer i think i found out how they do it. it said somewhere you use your key to lift the latch

i just bought and fitted one of them ebay ones to my motor, you can hardly see that there are the top holes for the bonnet catch, here is a pic:

you cant see it. even if you only cut away a small recess its better than none! and you can just use your key or a screwdriver to open it if you have one handy! lol

i dont like hte idea of having to use the key or screwdrive coz if you need to open ya bonnet quick or something case of overheating or a fire it will be hard to do it without messing about trying to get it open

Your bonnet can be lifted up to get your fingers underneath it once you've popped the bonnet catch from the inside, thats how people manage to smooth their grill off and still have access to the engine its easy give it a go.

just going to say that you can fit your hand up there to lift the catch

What's the fit like on those eBay ones - any gaps etc? Do they screw in like the Dimma ones? The Dimma I used to have was a perfect fit.

she fits really good, no majo gaps and dont look like its a copy

i put a bolt through the catch so i got a fully meshed grille and put my hand under the bonnet an push up on the bolt which then pushes the catch..... looks lot tidier tbh than a cutout
