VTR Boot floor

   Hi folks, new on this forum as I am looking to buy a wee VTR/VTS runabout.
   
   Went to see a car the otherday which was overall in very good condition however the beam under the bootfloor where the exhaust mount is has 3 pairs of holes with a bit of rust. I'm right in sayiong this beam is structural anbd would therefore fail an mot? I'll attach pic if I can later on. If it is structural, is it possible to replace? Rest of the car is excellent and has new tyres, new discs/pads all round, 10 month mot, FSH and a full new exhaust on it with average miles for age.

   if it dose fail on it pal the mot ppl will just tell ya to get it welded i would have fort i had welding done on my old car nere the boot and cost me £80

   they are meant to be there, just looks like surface rust so wire brush it all to decent metal and repaint and waxoyl the affected areas

   Mine looked worse then that and i did the ^^^ above ^^^ and it looks great

    A good wire brush off then as said underseal it.

    As far as I know you can't get them, they were rotten on mine aswell and I have cut them both out by the spot welds I'm in the process of replicating them the best I can with sheet metal. Let me know if you find anywhere to buy them though, its not the easiest job making them i'm no fabricator lol.

    I'm training to become a welder fabricator but I've only just started and would be easier and less time consuming to buy them Yea I will let you know if I find some

    Yeah like its not too bad making the basic shape its just making the tabs on the ends I'm struggling with as i'm trying to make it look as original as possible so they don't stand out a mile.
