Fan belt loud squeaking noise

  1. #1
When I start my car I get a horrible loud sweaking sound from my fan belt, sounds like a 20 stone man having sex on an old bed.

The fan belt looks quite new and its really tight so its not slipping like I expected, the noise seems to go after ive been driving for abit.

Anyone know how to repair this problem, appologies for the graphical detail I have gone into but I felt it was essentail. Thanks

There`s your answer really tight it`s to tight & straining the alternator bearings hence the squeal.

Loosen the alternator off a tad, Tighten the belt up so half a turn of the belt is tight, No more or less.

    Saxos dont have fan belts?...

Does the noise go away when you press the clutch in? Just thinking that noise sounds like it could be the release bearing
