s1 rallye gearbox recon advice

Had S1 gearbox reconned and fitted to my S.

I've took it back twice now becuase the gears are really loose. Put it into 1st and the gearstick can be moved about 2inches left and right.

He swears blind there is nothing he can do and it is becuase i have fitted a peugout box to a citroen. So he fucked around with it and now the gearstick bangs off the side when going into 5th.

What is this guy go on? anyone else noticed this when fitting an S1 box. I'm close to knocking this guy out.

Absolutely sod all to do with fitting a pug box to a citroen, absolute tosh that hes talking.

Have you tried changing the selector pin? its only about 26p for a new one yet a huge difference for such a small part when its worn.

nothing to do with the gearbox internals, its down the linkage

    It can be the gearbox.

There's a pin which locates the shifter arm on the gearbox to the rod in the box which selects gear. When the pin wears there can be a bit of movement in the selector arm which is amplified at the gearstick end

There are some pins inside the box which can cause movements but would assume he'd have changed them.

I see what you're saying though and I agree on it being part of the linkage setup, but not the 3 linkages that people would immediately think causes the side to side movement
