Clutch change?

Hi, i had a Valeo clutch kit fitted about 6000 miles ago when i had my gearbox changed..but recently i've had a metallic grinding/rattling noise when i accelerate and i've been told it's probably the thrust/release bearing? because when i have my clutch up it makes another kind of rattle and when the clutch is down it goes...just wondered if the 2 noises could be linked?
And also would that mean i'd have to change the clutch too? :/

It's the clutch release bearing what 'scrapes' when you don't press your clutch.. It's got 2 tiny PLASTIC clips.. hence why they break.. don't need to change clutch.. but it's still a Gbox off job.. Just leave it and put up with the noise until next clutch/box change

When slowing to a stop, leave the car in 1st gear and clutch down while still rolling. If the noise continues then gearbox is fecked.
If you can't hear anything then yes it's just the clutch
