Important! : Oil is burning in engine and dripping down. whats causing it

  1. #1
Has been happening for a couple of days now since I went on a long journey.

I have noticed the coolant is low. Could it be to do with that?

I have attached a picture of where most of the oil is found

    Thanks

I personally can't see a picture. Do you have any idea where the oil is coming out? Is it a leak or just burning too much oil. Could be anything from a £10 leaking rubber gasket to a cracked sump or engine. Top up coolant and oil and monitor levels closely.
Low coolant could have caused oil to overheat and cause damage elsewhere, causing a leak.

    Hope this helps,
    Tom

cant see your picture, but its more likely to be the headgasket if its both burning oil and using water..

quick check turn the car on from cold and imidiatley open the radiator cap up and if it instantly has preasurised then its the head gasket, because it will be pumping preasure in to the coolant if its super fooked.
