VTS injectors not releasing fuel

  1. #1
2002 shell with a 2003 VTS conversion. Been running perfect for 3 months.

I'm getting fuel to the rail and power to the injectors but the injectors won't fuel.

Ecu is unlocked there is no Imobiliser in the car.

I'm wacking my brains to what the problem is.

are you sure the fuel to the rail is under pressure? eg whenyou turn it over with the fuel pipe off at rail end is it pumping fuel? as if not properly could be fuel pump

you cranked it over with all the injectors plugged to rail but not in head so they defo not squirtingot fuel?

I'm positive I've taken the lines of and turned the key there is plenty of pressure,

Also taken the rail out the head and nothing comes out.

Weird thing is I plugged the vtr Ecu in and it sort of started :s

I've also tried a recon Ecu and still the same problem.

soooo. first, may have just been co-incidence with vtr ecu...

remove the fuel pipe from rail end, put it in a bottle, and get a mate to crank the engine over, if youve got fuel youve ruled pump/imob out

then imediatley again plug pipe back on, rail onto injecotrs, and crack it over again with a rag ready to catch any fuel if you do get it

if not, the remove the cap from one of the injectors, and test it for power while your mate cranks it over

if youve got power or not... then you need to try all other injectors, rule out wiring issues,

if youve got no power at all then you have a fault with wiring, if you got power you need to get another set of injecotrs to try and see what the crack is..

    1. Getting fuel
    2. Got power to the injectors
    3. Crank position sensor measures around 450 ohms
    4. Can't be the injectors as fuel comes out with the vtr ecu

Now just had the rail back out, and with the VTR ecu in fuel spurts out continuously.

But with the VTS ecu plugged in fuel only spurts out for a few seconds, this would be why the car fires for a couple of seconds and dies.

So theres my problem, why is fuel only coming out for a few seconds?

    must be an ecu falut

Tried another ECU from a specialist which was said to be working perfect and it still dosent work.

If the relay under the ecu went it wouldnt fuel at all would it?

Right so the fuel pump or injectors are losing their live after a few seconds, any ideas what causes that?

Thinking of just bypassing it and running a switch live to them

Now the weird part, the car is running fine on the VTR ecu , apart from cutting out at junctions sometimes. And still wont run on the vts ecu

I sent the ecu back and it works perfectly on another car.

So are there any sensors the vts use's that the vtr doesn't? Im completely baffled with this.

    Help greatly appreciated.

No one have any ideas on this at all?

Got to admit i`m stumped on this 1 short of trying another set of injectors I don`t know mate.

take it to a garage with diagnostic equipment and get them to run all troubleshooting tests and see if it brings up any anomolies. Do this with the vts ecu plugged in obviously

I did think injectors, but I'm driving around with the vtr ecu plugged in and its driving fine but can't be doing the engine any good.

I know its a long shot but has anyone got a 3 plug vts engine bay wiring diagram they could post up please, i can't find one anywhere.
