Brake Fluid Flush, Now Not Bleeding?

  1. #1
Got a 16v, I flushed out all my old brake fluid yesterday and removed all my calipers and stripped them down etc, now I've fitted it all back and also fitted a GTi6 master cylinder the brakes don't want to seem to bleed at all, i've started to fill the reservoir up and its just sitting at maximum even with a bleed nipple open and me pumping the pedal.

Just to clarify I drained all of the fluid out of the system.

A mate of mine drained his recently, he then opened up both rear bleed nipples (with tubing into bottles on them) and left for about 30-40 minutes topping up master cylinder as reqd, he said it worked a treat. Then he went round and bled all brakes afterwards to get rest of air out

Could be airlocked or stuck bleed nipples? I remember a 106 I was bleeding up a while back - caliper piston would not push back in and it ended up bending a 12 inch g clamp out of shape. The fix was to take the bleed nipple right out as it was clogged up, let the air and old fluid out and it worked a treat

My fluid isn't getting past the master cylinder though that's the problem. And there is no fluid in the system whatsoever

Master cylinder was blocked. Took it off and pumped it by hand and it fixed it. Now bleeding fine. Thread can be closed.
