Car dying !

hey ... i was using my saxo vtr few days ago and when i go to steer .. left or right the car just dies the steering locks and engine dies anyone know whats up

Hmm, This when the car is stationary? Doe's it start up fine? plenty of power?

Sounds like the battery/alternator aren't doing their job, as when you move the steering, the PAS draws quite abit of battery power..

Eg, i jump started mine.. left running for awhile.. got in, turned wheel and tryed to set off, and it cut out as the battery wasn't charged enough.

Funny part of the story is, my central locking didn't work at the time (delocked/de-pinned) and i was locked inside my car on my drive, had to wait for some1 to pass, and shouted them to open my boot lol!!

maybe try yourself another fresh battery and get your alternator checked out at an auto electrician to see if there might be a problem with that mine wasnt returning enough power not so long ago and my steering was really heavy...

Ahh ok cheers going to get it serviced tomorow soo we will see what's up and lool I can imagine that lool
