For the ball joints, Get a hammer, Move everything that is attatched out the way, Higher the car in the air, Hammer out the ball joint, It's best to use a ramp for this.

if i was gonna attempt changing balljoints myself id whack the old one out with a hammer then get some heat into the wishbone b4 pressing the new one in the vice using a socket or some kinda tube around the balljoint so you dont damage it.. can imagine them being a bit of a bastard to do though.. wouldnt of thought a garage would charge much to press you some new ones if you took the wishbones off.

For the axle bushes you.might aswell just get another axle matey

    Yes but why is that

It's just the price and fannying about changing bushes ...poly bushes bwt 45 quid another axle bwt 60 quid is rather pay the.extra n save messing about.not only that if the garage don't have to.change bushes.its 1 less job so slightly cheaper labour

    Axles are really that cheap?

do you mean the mounting bushes or the bearing at the end of axle that have play if so its a new axle which will be 5o 200 for second hand or im axle is about 360 for new unit lowered to what ever you want plus can trade ur old beam in and get discount if a prmium member

If you.just want a second hand one ppl sell em on here anywhere from 60 to 100 mate

there are no bushes in the trailing arm, there needle roller bearnings. 80 quid for the kit off 106parts.com may find it cheaper elsewhere but thats the one ive got, no point buying a second hand axel just cause you dont want to do the bearings, you will end up with another fucked axle 12 months down the line. my axle fucked up and the stub pins were worn from the bearings being nackerd so bought second hand beam and now i have the same problem, only i think ive caught it early enough so i should be able to just refurb the trailing arm new bearings/spacers etc. its definatly worth doing even tho its a bit of a bitch to do.
