seat problem

  1. #1
the front left bolt on my drivers seat closest to the hand brake was playing up, i am able to lean back on my seat and the whole runner will lift up so far.

so anyway, i removed the four bolts and removed the seat. but that bit of metal that the bolt, bolts into has fell down into the chasis and the area around seems to have perished. i have been able to use a magnet to reposition it, but how do i get it to stay there perminantly???

    regards

    exact same problem as me....

i found a big washer in my shed and it fits over the rotten area so now it holds tight. i know what ya mean by welding that bracket that contains the threaded cube thing to the chasis but when the seat is in it will be pushing the weld apart.

its fine now but i need to grind off abit off the bottom of the rail mount thing cos the thickness of the washer is raising the seat ever so slightly and it sort of jams when the seat is pushed forward.

will i just get a small sheet of metal. drill a hole and weld a nut on the other side and weld it in the caar with the nut facing down? as Ed China did on wheeler dealers to the porshe 944 rolcage mounts lmao
