rover gearboxes

So i was reading a archived thread on here saying some rovers and hondas had ma boxes the same as saxos/106, apparently you can lift the diff from a rover box and its a straight fit into a saxo box for a cheap lsd, is this the case? Anymore info? I want a decent diff but can't afford one

I'm not sure about the diff, but I've heard about people using the selector arms from them as they are stronger?

Would like to know more on this

Yeh they can but I believe with a few little modifications, best bet is to pull a Rover and Saxo box apart to compare and size everything up

Yes the R56 box is from the same basis as the MA box but they are unfortunatly different in a few crucial areas such as the clutch arm, mounting bracket, and some use a different starter motor.

edit: iirc the tomcat uses a PG1 not an R56 ???? may be wrong but thats the car you'd want the LSD from.
