    Hi, everyone!

My problem is that the warning lamp of the handbrake lights. The car is Saxo VTS 1.6 16V (Year:2002). The level of the brake fluid is ok. The button under the handbrake too. I've checked the sensor on the reservoir (for the brake floid) with multimeter : first i've checkd the sensor when the (+) of the multimeter was on the second cable (or on the first I can't remember) then i changed and the multimeter alerted.
So if anyоne can help I'll be so grateful.
There is a video wich can help:

Place a short lengh of wire or a paperclip etc between the connections that goto the brake fluid reservoir switch. With ignition on stage 2 check to see if the warning light has gone out. Remember to leave the handbrake off! This will prove if the switch is broken on the reservoir.

Another way (if you have a multimeter to hand) is to set multimeter to 'ohms' and put it accross the switch contacts. Turn the switch upside down and then right way up again to check it is working.

    Hi,

I'm about to post about a similar problem.

I have a 1.5 diesel. Randomly, the handbrake warning light comes on and my rev counter stops working.

I've found that if I turn on my sidelight, then turn on the front foglamps, then turn the front foglamps back off, the rev counter bursts into life and the handbrake warning light goes back off.

So I guess its not a loose connection, I need to find what causes this as next neat its classed as an MOT failure

Either that or I'll take the bulb out lolz

    Found the problem,
The problem of the hand brake light and the not working tach was the car computer.
After swaping this with working one from other car problem solved.
