Vtr exhaust on a 1.1

  1. #1
Currently building up my own exhaust for my 1.1.

I bought the centre pipe for a vtr with the silencer, but now realised it is longer then the standard.

To make it fit i'l have to cut part of my cat pipe or buy a vtr cat, will a vtr cat restrict my car at all or effect the emissions in a bad way? Thanks

the cat helps emissions and without a cat on mot day, your car fail on emissions. However, without a cat and silencer the car is much louder and adds 1-5 bhp.

With you only haveing a 1.1 the chances are you actually loseing power as there is not enough back pressure if going de catted..

    I know this^^
what I'm saying is will there be any bad side effects by USING a vtr cat?

The centre sections the same width just about 10inches longer lol.
The cat pipe on the 1.1 makes up for the length difference, on the original centre.
I've bought a 1.4 cat now, so going to run it and if there's problems with emissions at m.o.t. Time (doubtful, if anything they should be better lol) then I know my problem
