Originally my saxo was down on power and took ages for the revs to pick up then its would rev over 3000 and ran lumpy. Had it plugged in and it came up with map sensor so fitted a new one and it hasnt made any difference apart from it no longa comes up with that code. The managment light wasnt on and still isnt. Does anyone have any suggestions please. Ive checked the timing and that was fine. Cheers jon

#2I've heard of this problem a few times, and it usually turns out to be the ECU at fault.
I would try another ECU if you can. Will need to be unlocked though (pretty sure you just unplug the immobiliser box with the engine running to unlock one?). -
#3i had this not so long ago on my 16v and it turned out to be the crank sensor quite a common thing im sure hope it helps

#4Only way for me to try another ecu would be to buy one and have it unlocked as i dont no anyone with wit a saxo. Also when i got my map sensor i got a second hand one frim a citroen breakers and al the sensors he had were different apart from one which was on anither w reg saxo vtr. Aparently its the change over year and part are diferent on these compared to the later mk2s.mine beung an early mk2 so would this affect which ecu i would have to get.. Sorry for all the confusion and questions

#7mine did this after a heavy puddle got into the loom. ended up with water in the plug for the crank sensor!

#8The plug which goes onto the crankshaft sensor looks lyk something has hit it so maybe it could of damaged the actual sensor
