DIY flocking kits

   i would have thought the effectiveness would be limited. if there the type where you have a bottle you blow it on with....

   cheap ones dont really give a nice even effect as they dont stand the fibres on end..

   This is something I have been looking into, you need to "polarize" the surface so the fibres stand on end to get the best result.
   
   It seems like the ebay kits are aimed more at lining jewellery boxes and things like that, rather than car dashes.
   
   You can get a hobby one from here : http://www.modelshop.co.uk/product/F...e_Noch_TU10003 for about £150, thing is these are used for doing grass on model railways, I think something a bit larger scale would be needed for a dash.
   
   I'm planning on buying a dash and attempting to flock it myself once I get back from my holiday, might be worth waiting to see how I get on?

    Depending how handy you are i've heard about people making their own flocking machines using an electric fly swatter to get the static charge.
    
    I've got the frosts kit as i need to touch up a couple scratches on my dash, Might have a go at doing some small bits and check results.

    I just watched a guide on youtube, seems easy and cheap to do.
    
    Could you show us how you get on with the frost kit, it seems to be flockit bags? same kit sold on ebay?
    
    frosts postage is £7.50 on a sub £90 spend
    
    In all honesty though, after trawling youtube, I think I'd rather send my dash away, maybe use the kit for smaller parts

    There are a few flocked dashes knocking around on the forsale section thats where ive just got mine from
