Important! : Please Help. Drive shaft issue

    I was today just about to change the N/S drive shaft on my 1998 VTS (already done the other one). Came to push it into the hub spline and it seems to be different. The splines on the shaft are much to wide to slot into the female groves in the hub....as in they are both the same shape so they will never mate. So either the shaft is wrong or someone has put a hub and shaft off a different model at some point?. The old shaft has much thinner more tapered splines than this one. I'm in no mans land at the minute
    Any advice welcomed.

    Is it a tapered shaped or the flat type? You need the right sort for the hubs on the car. Whats the other side like?

    It's the flat type which is the same on the old one, can't recall what the other side was like. They are identical other than the spline shape, same diameter and number of splines too....
