shaking like mad!

put all the new suspension i got on for my vtr, so decided to get it tracked and the wheels balanced as the steering wheel was abit shakey. had it done yesterday and it came back worse. apparently the the balancing was a tiny bit out and the tracking was bang on. But when you hit 55 it shakes lie a shitting dog. nothins loose etc, any ideas?

Get them balanced or checked. Check when they do it and get them to make sure its 5gram MAX out... nothing more.

as aboth id check if they done then especially if or standard vtr rim as the dont fit on normal wheel balancer you need a different adaptor which many places dont have

its been done though and they said it was perfect. running td 1.2s with 25mm spacers? couldnt be them could it?

are they hub centric spacers??? the ones which bolt to the hub then wheel NUTS to hold the wheel on??

if not then you found your problem!

i have normal spacers on my 206, got new tyres and balenced etc, wheel woble like hell!!!

hubcentric spacers will solve this, usually around £50 a pair on ebay

no theyre just bolt straight through, its never done this before and i must have had the wheels on 6 months. might give it a try though.

see my car came with them on etc and all was ok till i had new tyres put on.

basically the type or spacers you have are not attached to the hub so is technically a extra weight on the wheel, so yea they wheels are balenced but then the weight of the spacer is added...

you could try asking places to balence the wheels with the spacers between the wheel and the balencing machine but i tried this and most places sid they would not do it, but that would solve the problem also.

saxo_89 thats not the problem with those spacers, its the fact the hub locates the wheel and stops it moving, when you fit non-hub centric spaces you are doing away with the locating action of the hub so the wheel is never going to be centred on the hub and there is nothing stopping the wheel from moving slightly during use. And if the wheel isnt centred on the hub it will bob up and down on rotation causing vibration ect

    thanks for that

that would explain fully why the vibration i get comes and goes then!!!

no sarcasim at all here, thanks!

have u got spigot rings on the spacers? maybe they need replacing if they have any wear/splits in them
