ya have to remove the CV joint and change the full boot

As above need to remove driveshaft from hub assembly and replace the cv boot

Changing the boot almost never works, you'll need a new shaft.

stickyboots are a waste of time. Just buy a gaitor kit and a stretch cone to fit it, cheap enough on ebay

    this!

tip, turn the boot inside out when you stretch it over, so you can push it and flip it over at the end of the cone.
    win.

Depends on how much grease has escaped from the cv joint, loosing the grease causes wear in the cv joint.

get a stretchy boot inside out,, hot water ,grease and cone, just pull off your hub.

remove shaft from hub get a mate to pull hub out of your way.
next place the cone over the c.v joint.
afer that spray it with lubricant (some kits come with spray grease)
next turn c.v boot inside out and spray with grease
now for the difficult bit. get yourself in a comfortable position that you can put all your body weight behind the boot and push it over the cone (with a good grip) DON'T stop the boot will be a right pain to get off.
put the two clips on and rebuild the hub assembly up

if you find it a pain to get the boot on then take the shaft out block the gearbox with a rubber glove to minimise oil leakage and do as above in a vice a hell of alot easier .

Stretchy boot all the way. Most parts suppliers have them.
