VTR Mk2 induction kit? what to buy?

  1. #1
hey guys i'm also lookin at getting an induction kit.
now i have read a post below somewhere but people are saying that a k&n cone would make a saxo lose power

i was looking at getting on of those but now i am a bit weary because i really dont want to buy an induction kit that slows the car down as it would kinda defeat the whole point.

    so what do i buy?

also this is the kit i want will it slow me down or what?

and also what the hell do i do with the lambda sensor issue?

Lambda is an exhaust/de-cat issue, not an induction issue!

What year is your mk2? As the engine changed on 2001 model Vtr!

well i just came across a bit of luck my mate is selling his k and n induction kit to me for 15 quid so ill stick that on to see wat the power gain/loss is like and go from there

Ive got a "green dynamic powerflow" induction kit on mine, no idea about power loss... but it sounds nice

where did you get yours from mate?
  9. #9
Well it came with the car, the lad before me put it on. They seem to be a tad pricey though, http://www.priracing.com/product.php...n-saxo-vtr-1-6

But if you get that k&n kit off your mate, for £15, i dont think you can really go wrong!!

well ive bookmarked the page u just posted so if this k and n does go wrong i will probably go with that or the green cotton panel filter, will have to see what happens tonight lol

ive got a K&N 57i induction kit on my mk 2 vtr, it definatly doesnt decrease the power that i can regognise anyway, my kit came with a scoop to be mounted under front bumper and a ram pipe to direct the air right up into the front of the cone filter. sounds nice too, you can hear it suck in the air and gives a nice little roar.

i doubt mine will come with the scoop part but i was thinking about getting a cold air ram. ive seen a carbon fibre one on ebay which looks cool but i dont know yet but nice to know that it wont decrease the power on it.
i will take pics of the car n give it a run tonight but i got my back lights goin on tomorrow and my new back box goin on in the morning having it custom made and fitted tomorrow should be about 3 hours the guys said to get it fitted.
already got the straight through stainless steel pipes on it which make it sound nice but wanting the induction kit so ill see how it goes later on tonight but ill let you know.
if i knew how to post pics of the car as it is i would lol so if you know it would be handy.
