i used halfords stuff, but wish i didnt use there lacquer, its pants. its chiped off abit already, and they were left 3 weeks to harden before tyres fitted etc. will be re-doing in a few months probs.

ye tht is prob the main question but i was thinking did any do like a special sanding in between coats or did someone maybe lacquer between the actual colour coats i.e
primer, primer, colour, colour, lacquer, colour, lacquer, lacquer?

or am i being stupid now lol

The thing is, supposedly you're supposed to leave 15 mins between coats, but ive found the only way to get a real deep shine is once you've put the final coat of paint on, use a heat gun or hairdryer to heat the whole area up so the paint becomes tacky, then put the laquer on, heat slightly, another coat of laquer etc etc, i usually leave them for a couple days at least after to harden, always worked for me but i do spend quite a while on prep. hope this helps.

thanks for the help i will try and use like heat to warm the wheel before spraying the lacquer, would this work better with the actual paint i have chosen...bmw sparkling graphite?

    any chance its this pic?

if so there mine and it was a 2k sikkens clear coat i used. But if you dont have spray equipment the best clear coat is u-pol clear coatits u-v protected so they wont fade over time.
