Changing steering rack

   Can a steering rack be changed with the engine in?

   It will slide out sideways from under the wheel arch i think I did it from passenger side last time. The mounting bolts are big torx ones from memory also so make sure you have the bits.

   Ah cool, just mine went about year and half ago but just got a new rack off a mate whos just broke a gti.

   yes you can but i take the inlet manifold off VTS's to aid access, don't know if its possible with manifold on or not,never tried it

   I prefer removing the engine.
