does the v reg 1999 vtr have the mk1 engine even though it has the mk2 facelift im asking cos i have a 99 t plate vtr and i need a new engine there is a good bargain close to me but the guy cant tell me the engine code whether its 1 or 3 plug ecu nothing he is a retard of the highest order

would i be right to believe they swapped the looks late 99 but the engines remained the same until 2001 x reg and the engine in the v plate 1999 vtr is the nfz mk1 90bhp engine

No, they came with the same engines as late mk1s.
