Safe to drive???

    hey guys my last post was about induction kits and fitting lexus lights, but unfortunately thats on hold ... a car decided to cut into my lane last night and i hit the brakes n the bank end went out slightly and belted the corner of a curb.
    now i have been getting it checked out today and had comments about the radial arm bearings being shot and heard a lot of things like "your wheel might fall off"etc
    now i basically need to replace the back axle for it to be "safe" and pass an mot thats due middle of august.
    luckily i found one thats 120 quid off a vtr also at a breakers.
    getting it fitted for 80 quid including fuel filter change

    the guy my friend knows is the one thats fitting it for me next wednesday and hes been working on french cars for about 30+ years.
    and he said that the wheel wont fall off or anything like that becuase the joint for the wheel isnt damaged or anything like that, he said to get it sorted if you hear a groaning noise or sumthin like that.

    but i am wondering is it really safe to drive as im worried as hell everytime i get into the dam car now and my misses is worried about driving it as she did before this incident.

    the guy i spoke to said that the problem is at least 6 months old and ive only had the car for 2 days so apparently it wasnt even the bang that caused the problem.

    any feedback of any sort would be appreciated as ive kinda lost my excitement for the car.

    and had to put my lexus lights custom exhaust etc on hold that was meant to be done today

    yeah its fine to drive. theres a 1.5 diesel 106 on my barracks and the rear wheels are literaly 45 degrees to the axle (leaning in at the top) and that is still driving about lol. so unless your bearings are that far gone i think you will be fine. lol

    well theres no vibrations in the wheel and no noise.

    the current axle is fine its just that arm apparently it isnt bent or broken or anything but so say it will be fine until it makes a noise so im guessing i just have to get past thinking its gunna fall off lol but not that easy.

    the wheel isnt even noticeably bent to be honest i would say its probly only out about 10 degrees but that will be sorted after fitting the new axle.

    sucks so bad though 2 days having the car and this happend now that is not good luck haha.

    mines gone like 2 months ago. its still driving fine even with boost.

    new beam is sitting in my shed though now im skint

    i was gunna do it my self. but its out my experience i think so ill pay to get it done by a mate.

    2 months :O well i guess i will be fine then but can i still chuck it into corners and do speed with it or should i not push my luck until next week lol.

    luckily its happend as we have been paid but like you this is outta my league so im getting a mechanic my mate knows to fit a new axle for me as nobody seems to want to fit just the beam.
