creaking sound when I pull away

When I pull away from, say, traffic lights or anywhere else, there seems to be a nasty but not loud creaking noise coming from under the car as if the car is under some sort of strain?

It seems to happen more if I pull away in 2nd gear if I'm on a road that has a slight incline. It's got me a little worried that it could turn out to be a much bigger problem that what it is curently if I don't do anything about it.

Anyone had anything similar or know what it could be?

    Cheers

Check the exhaust fittings? I had a similar problem and changed the springs and bolts that join the down pipe to the centre pipe and that solved my problem

Does this happen on low revs, or when you pull away at a near stall? (second gear could cause more of a juddering on low revs (more load on the engine) which could cause your rear box or exhaust system to judder, as stated by the last post. I had to run mine on 3 cylinders as a test to a previouse problem, when the engine was rough my rear box was juddering around everywear qwite violently.
    Good luck mate!!

arb bushes are a likely suspect. Its likely something rubber - so, ARB, top mounts, wishbones etc.
