Important! : Top Mounts... Help?! :(

   Just taken the car to the garage as I had a knocking noise coming from the front, they've had a look at it and said I need new top shock mounts...
   They've quoted me £75 per side to sort this.
   
   Is this a good price/ the normal price for this sort of thing?
   
   I've recently put a strut brace on which I think has caused this issue.
   
   They said there's a bit of play in them but it's not excessive so it should be alright for now.

   wOW 75 quid each side?? I just bought some new top mounts today and they cost 34 pounds for the pair. So 116 for labour

   Try eurocarparts, they have some on there.

   Eurocarparts do a top mount and top mount bearing kit for just over £30 which for that absolute bargain price its worth changing both.
   
   Also on ebay for just under £35 posted from a reputable seller

   The front suspension is a piece of cake to work on, is there anyone close to you that could give you a hand?

   Not that I know of mate lol looks like it'll have to be a garage Cheers for the links though!

   Yup they will be fine, should be able to find them a little cheaper though? think i paid about £32 or something for mine

    Why do they think it the top mounts? And how can a sturt brace cause damage?
    
    What sort of knocking noise?

    Can get new bearing for top mounts for like a 10 quid a side. The rubber dosent normally get that bad just the bearings that get damaged.
    
    Could be wrong.
    
    Dnt for get a garage will be charging by the hour so that why it that sort of price will price it as an hour eqch side labour plus the part price.
