Wipers Stopping When Touch The Stalk

  1. #1
When my front wipers are set onto the 1st normal speed, not intermitant, they will all of a sudden STOP and then START again.

Ive diagnosed the problem as being the wiper stalk, as if i wiggle it slightly, or twist for the rear wiper it would start or stop the wipers again.

If you think its something else, please let me know, its not the motor or the wipers as intermitant and full speed works fine, I just think its that position of the switch is not a good contact, or worn out.

Can the stalks be replaced without removing the wheel?

    Thanks in advance.

Replace stalk, best to take wheel off for access. Torx screws in back of wheel. Remove battery and wait half hour before doing the job

Thats mate, just wasnt sure if it was essential to take the wheel off.

you dont have to take steering wheel off. just undo the bolts from steering column and drop it down, take cowling covers off then you can get to the stalk, this is what i did on mine.

if the stalk dont fix it mate, it might be the motor knackered, the contacts inside could be bust
