rattling exaust

hi guys, my exaust rattles like a bitch and has done for a while now. it seems to be getting worse (and is now driving me nuts) it only happens when reversing. any ideas on how to fix/the root of the problem would be greatly appreciated. ive had a quick look under the car and cant see anything missing :/ thanks

The best way I find to diagnose and fix such problems is to take it to say Kwik Fit, they will put it on a ramp and then you can ask to have a look underneath, give the thing a good shake to find where it's rattling/knocking.

They will give you a quote for some replacement part, which you can then go and buy yourself and fix, if it genuinely needs fixing.

For me it saves jacking the car up and only having 2ft of space to work with.

I had the same problem

Look for a bracket on the exhaust near the end of the cat pipe just after it bends backwards and before it connects to the centre section, it could have snapped. If it has just bend it flush the the exhaust pipe as you don't need it anyway
