Coolant Temperature Sensor

I have a 2002 3 plug vts and i am trying to identify the coolant temperature sensor for the fueling. There is a blue plug with a yellow ring around it screwed in to the block just behind the thermostat housing. This has only one connector in it. I have measured this sensor with my multi meter and there is no resistance i.e. open circuit. If this is the temperature sensor then there should be some resistance proportional to the engine temp.

Now i am not sure if this is the correct sensor, and it is faulty, or this is not the coolant temp sensor.

Any body with any experience in this area ?

Blue plug with a yellow ring is engine(oil) temp sensor.Coolant temp sensor is on the thermostat housing.I´m not sure if is green colour, because picture is from the single plug ECU´d saxo, but location is the same.Brown one is for aircon.
