Flatarch Front > VT

  1. #1
Looking to fit a VT kit to the front of my flatarch but have a couple of questions...
Do the front arches need to be cut to get the VT arches on?

Once it's on; if I was to leave it with just the front done; would the front arch be level with the door without the door mouldings that the VT kit has or would it stick out and look stupid / be higher than the rest of the car??

it would look stupid, as you wont have sideskirts if your only doing the fron, and the arches slip into the skirts for fitment......

but in answer to your question, no you dont need to cut the arches, just need to drill some hole in them for the clips

What if I attached side skirts too?

You have 2 options you can tigerseal them on or drill holes & fix them that way.Yes they will fit but will look pretty daft without the rest of the kit.

get the flat arch kit for the arches, instead of using vtr arches there is actually flat arch mouldings you can get so you it wouldnt stick out and look odd

thats one style but still sticks out a bit by the doors, theres another style like the pug ones that only go round the arch and not across to the door if you get me

I was just looking at a cheap option of fitting a front vtr bumper on my flatarch without it sticking out and looking stupid lol
  9. #9
Probably be more cost effective just to wait and buy a vtr
  10. #10
just put a front vt bumper on and leave it

Should be able to use cable ties to pull in the sides of the Vt bumper to make it more flush against the side!

to fit the front arches, you will need the front bumper, and the side skirts otherwise it would look stupid, and they do stick out abit, because the vt kit gives a slightly wider look to the bottem half of the car, i know this because ive got the vtr kit on my car

if you put a vtr bumper on without the arches the bumper sticks out abit at either side for where the arches connect to mate

Search it mate.. it can be done, many people on this forum have done it.. including Rob who you just replied to lol.

It fits on, and the sides need to be pulled in with cable ties so they sit flush with the flatarch arches. Search 'tom5190', i think thats his username. He had a vt front bumper on his flatty and it looked wicked.

Hmm you've confused me a bit lol.. by 'flatarch arches' i didnt mean the aftermarket ones they've linked above.. i just meant the standard arches as they are.

its not all about power and speed mate, some people just want a small engine car which looks nice, having the vtr/s kit on doesnt mean your pretending to have a VTR/S, okay maybe some guys do but not everyone.
plus some people cant afford the insurance, i only have a saxo 1.1i and im paying £1,200 insurance on that, imagine on a vtr/s,

    fuck that lol

i love the vtr/s look, but not the vtr/s insurance quotes lol
im not a lover of flatarch if im honest :/

in the next few months an xsara vts 2.0 engine is going into my saxo, my mates done it to his and hes left his flatarched, in this case it is quite a good and fun think because youve always got 1 chavvy fucker in a big kitted up car that will want to race you because they think you have a small engine.
    then you blow them lol
