Important! : 1.1 engine 1.6 radiator fan !!

at the minute my fan has stopped working, when i fitted the radiator i linked the wires and put the fan on a switch which has worked fine for a while but now stopped, how do you actually get a vtr radiator on a 1.1 working off a temperature sensor, do you need to drill a 20mm hole in the side like the 1.1 n fit the 1.1 sensor and keep all the standard loom or change the whole loom to the vtr one, would be realy greatful for any help as i have 4 hours to get this done before i have to go out
