drums to discs question

in the next few months, an xsara vts 2.0 engine will be going into my saxo.

(please dont give me lectures about it being a bad idea, insurance wise and bla bla bla im not bothered , its a project)

anyway, i know what needs to be changed for the engine to fit, and i know it will be abit of work getting the engine in,

but, as my saxo has rear drums instead of discs, would it be a good idea to change the drums to discs too?

(i know that most of the breaking is done by the front, and hardly at the back and all that, but im just wondering if the drums will handle the engine)

I swapped my drum axle on my furio for a disc one, brakes made such a big improvement i rekon.
Defo if your upgrading the engine, upgrade the brakes too.

cheers mate, i thought i should do it, even though only about 10-15% of breaking is dont from the rear, and the rest is from the from,
better safe than sorry i suppose
    discs look nicer too lol

Consider putting the 266mm disks on the front, it will require new calipers, that's if you've got 14" VTR Alloys. If you have the VTS alloys, you might want to put the 285mm disks on. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm currently replacing my 247mm disks on my VTR for 266mm ones as for fast road they just don't cut it, Milton Keynes is a nightmare!

    Dave.

    EDIT: 283mm
