How long should my battery last for without charge

   Hi my car is having problems atm but i need to go to work and dont want to break dwn because of my battery. Its not charging atm and just wondered how long it should last without anythin charging it. Should i remove the terminals whenever im not using it 2. ???

   When my alternator went up the creak & wasn`t charging the battery,I managed c10 miles then all the electrics went awol.That`s after charging the battery for 14hrs after being told the alternator was fine the day before & to charge the battery.

   Can't you just find another way to get to work rather than risk breaking down?
