Drilling into engine block

   I recently done a mk1 oil filter conversion but the m10 tap was slightly too big and wouldnt catch, so i got a temporary block in but its seeping oil.
   
   Could i drill into the oil return to expand the hole to 8.5mm? or any other alternatives?
   
   Any advice appreciated

   I drilled it and mines fine, just go steady and you should be fine.
