tinting rear lights red..

  1. #1
i know its probably been covered before but cba searching... i have a spare set of rear, standard headlights and im looking to spray the indicator lense part red.. it seems pretty straight forward just spraying it, but is there anything you need to do before hand to prep it? obviously cleaning the surface etc but anything else?

this is what i was looking at getting: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E-TECH-LEN...item3a6607d28e

will this work? how easy is it to do? (or how easy is it to mess up in my case )
any help or experience would be appreciated! cheers

its amazing what a search button can find!
because it's so hard to copy the title and paste it in the search box

Do you purposely come on here to be a nob?

Tinting is easy, just clean the surface, then mask it off. Give it light coats

yes. Love it when some tell others to search right before starting a thread and openly admitting themselves they "CBA", which short for "can't be arsed". I just loved the double amount of irony of it all.

take the lights off its easier than masking it off

that etech stuff is pretty good to be honest mate i did mine using the same stuff. as said above just make sure u prep it poperly so de-grease and a quick rub down.

lots of thin coats, dont do it all in one go

That stuff is a dream, and don't worry about messing it up, because E-tech do a tint remover which works amazing when I fudged mine up!

    Degrease, 3-4 coats, done.

ive heard you need different colour indicator bulbs for all red tints is this correct ?
  12. #12
no, as long as u do it sensibly and dont go to dark they will be fine how they are (providing theyre not to old as they do go white with age. heres mine, quite a dark blue but still allow all the light through. can easily be seen in direct sunlight aswell.

Yeah jewels all day, get some clear jewels mate, theyre nice (depending on what your going for)

I had red tint ones on, if you do the whole lens so it comes out really bright red it looks really nice. I did mine on the VTR

Though, it will fail mot/draw attention to police because reverse lights shouldnt shine through red

Also, yeah blue tinted lexus lights, badges, stickers, everything is fail on that blue 1.1

so many ppl dissin the guy for having something diff!if its a fail its none of your concern,do you pay for mot or retest???? NO!
    so stop bitching!
like the coding on blue btw but would like to see the red ones in pics???
