VTS won't fire

Hi guys have a little problem..

My vts has been on my drive for months and I last started it about a month ago before it went under major track work. In that month I've stripped all the loom down of any uneeded plugs, replaced spark plugs, relocated the battery, flushed and replaced the coolant.

That's all I can think of engine wise anyway. I tried to start it last night and the engine just turns but doesn't fire. It was pretty dark so I couldn't get a decent look but I checked all the plugs were sparking and they were fine. The battery is also ok.

The only thing that I know is different is that for some reason the fuel pump permantly primes when the ignition is on and only goes off when I turn it off. If this would flood the engine and stop it starting completely I'm not sure.

    Any help appreciated, cheers

I would first see if you have disturbed any earth connections in the loom,
Im not sure why the pump is permantly priming, when you took the plugs out were they soaked with fuel?

Haven't really touched any earths, except one or two which are in place but I even started the car with them detached so I know it couldn't be them.

The plugs were soaked yes, and I just tried to start it and got a giant backfire

wire the fuel pump to the coilpack so it doesnt permanently prime

    How do you mean?

It was all working fine and only primed for a few seconds and now it doesn't.. really odd

Fixed it incase anyone reads this. The cable I put in for the battery wasn't allowing the starter to turn quick enough, thanks for the help

Glad you got it sorted, how did you find the fault?

Just literally got to the point where I checked everything and it seemed fine so I traced back everything I had done over the last month until it got solved
