ass on the floor!

-
#2you will if do it by notches lol that'll take it to 80-90mm at the back and 40mm at the front...
-
#3do it right. Also welcome to lift off oversteer with the arse being low
-
#4which is great fun round, roundabouts!
-
#5no you wont mate iv got mine 50mm at the front and i think its 75mm on another notch and mine is fine iv had it done over year now and no problems.
-
#6as Scott said- DO IT PROPERLY and get it sitting exactly how you want it. notches is inaccurate and will fcuk the axle bearings. westy you should know the correct way to do it by now
-
#7i used the word "notch" in a lose way! i know you need to do it properly.... sorry
my bad!
ok thats cool so this friday = 4 branch, 266mm brakes, & on her ass!!
the manifold is waiting at my garage in bubble wrap its going to be like xmas wen i gat down there....! LOL
next month is lower strut brace, & rocker seal needs doing, month after GTI gearbox! then save save save!!! LOL -
#8Do we have any pics of ppls sax lowerd 60 mm or there about at the back!??
-
#9here you go mate mines roughly 60ish on the back

you might have to drop the front end a touch more aswell sometimes i look at mine and think the fronts abit too high and others i can look at it and think its ok -
#10are they 14's also! leaving mine 40 at the front....
-
#11Dont leave the front 40 will look daft imo.
-
#12no westy they are 15's
-
#13ah 15s! ill be 40mm front, upper & lower braces, rear at 60mm with no spare wheel & back seats - that should see her handle rather well IMO.
-
#14having the rear lower than the front wont to anything to improve your handling, quite the opposite. Rear will be to low to allow full suspension travel so it will skip around, less weight over the front wheels so understeer, then mega lift off over steer to flick you round into a hedge. There was method in citroen's madness in having the rear a few mm higher than the front
-
#15Hmm well ill have to trile run it for a month then see if i like it or not, could always drop the front say 50mm
-
#16mines not that bad there is the odd road it skips about on but it still handles realtively well can be abit of a handfull at times but thats how i like it
-
#17loo in thge 2nd pic down! is it me or do those white wheels look photoshoped on...! LOL
trial & error i guess with the handling then if i like it great if not change it! -
#18mine lowerd 60mm front and 80mm rear, car sits nice and level
-
#19& handles like!? SH&T or not that bad?
-
#20some people say they handle like shit that low, but I like mine can chuck it all over, but one thing it don't like is bumpy country roads lol, can lift back end so loses a bit grip, but its now on 17's so handling is out the window
-
#21mines 60mm on 14s matey
-
#22sweet..... like it.
-
#23my old one was dropped 60 all round on 16's and was terrible handled like poo and caught on every little bump but my new one lowered 55 on 15's and can throw it into corners and it sticks love it
-
#24
well mine will be 40mm at rear 60mm - or there abouts see how it goes!
-
#25that's more to do with the drop in wheels size, you'd be hard pushed to notice a difference raising the suspension by 5mm.Quote:Originally Posted by Emzmy old one was dropped 60 all round on 16's and was terrible handled like poo and caught on every little bump but my new one lowered 55 on 15's and can throw it into corners and it sticks love it

westy- lower it equally ie 50 front, 50 rear etc. may look too high at the back but they sit like that as standard so you need to keep it level for decent handling. even 40mm is too low for optimum handling anyway so anything beyond that is purely for looks (says he, lowered 60mm all round lol
)
-
#26would always have the front sitting slighty lower than the rear, if the rear is lower than the front it looks wank imo! just looks realy wrong.
dont spoil it do it right -
#27it should bring it level i think as its higher at the front atm, i can always readjust it if its no good. may go 50mm & get some dampers also, if i like the look of it at the back. 50mm on standard rims will look on the floor!!
well it will be on the floor i guess!
-
#28it will handle like a shopping trolley. i wouldnt like it that low. my vtr is 35mm and its fine and looks plenty low enough
-
#29jus got mine down 40mm went and piked it up this morning, pleased with the results looks nice and low and seems to handle nice, havent been for a proper drive yet though to may elderley drivers about during the day
-
#30mines been decked and handles sweet as you like round corners untill you brake!! with the back end been so stiff theres alot of action during braking at high speeds and changes in camber that move the weight to the front of the car are also worth watching out for!
-
#31same as me YM03, ive done sthe same as you
-
#32Hmm decided to leave her at 40mm alround now though! going to fit 185-50-14s next time i need new tyres should se a few mm lower! LOL
