Grindin noise- help please

    Got a 1998 vtr with 70k on clock but resently it started making a very loud grinding noise wen slowing down. noise comes from front end and never there when i plant the foot, just breaking and slowing. had a mate have a look at it and he reckoned its cus the cars lowered 60mm all round and it rubs, but i dont think its this. also the rear drivers wheel makes like a squealing noise, could this b a wheel bearing? hope someone can give me a solution, cheers

    check the condition of the brake pads and discs
