Change Cat-Back Exhaust

  1. #1
So i just bought a cat-back exhaust system (magnex).

I've had a look under the car and it looks relatively straight forward but wanted to get re-assurance before I start and come up against 100 problems.

The system is two parts, the backbox and centre section which i would imagine is a silencer.

Does the original VTR silencer just pop off at the join furthest towards the back? Its a bit rusty so i imagine i will need to bash it up a bit to get it off. It looks like the magnex one would just slot on once that is off, is that right?

I'll probably need a clamp to join the 2 magnex pipes together as well.. just to make sure that its tight.

Basically I dont want to be faced with any cutting. If someone could confirm that would be great... the system is a Magnex Cat-Back 3.5" inward rolled XSC01 and my car is a VTR 51 plate.

    Cheeeeeeers.

    So spotted an issue.

    XSC01 1.4i, 1.6i VTS/VTR Jan '96-'00 - mine is a VTR Y plate 51... will it fit?

    XSC04 1.6 VTR 98bhp '01.

When I bought it i assumed that it would fit due to the car being registered in early 2001 so prob be manufactured in 00? Im confused
