Powerflex Gearbox Mount

  1. #1
So i fitted my Powerflex Lower Gearbox mount this weekend. (the one underneath by exhaust)

ive noticed abit of a difference in the throttle, kinda more responsive on tick over when i blip the throttle which is good.

BUT when standing still or just pulling away under 2000 revs i get a bit of vibration through the the car, it doesnt bother me but just wanted to know if this is expected because it stiffens it up alot so the vibration has to go somewhere right?

has anyone else got one fitted and have the same symptoms?

    thanks, ricky.

    thats alright then.

nah this amount of vibration is enough for me, i only used powerflex as the original needed replacing so though i may aswell fit an uprated one.

did this on my 306 1.6. did the bottom mount with that yellow polyutherane stuff. only to find it started to knock on take off. coz its solid underneath it acts as a pivot point from the bottom and the torque is transfered to the top mount and gearboxmount. replace these and your gonna get a lot of vibration through the chassis/subframe. cant really win on this 1. performance/responsiveness vs comfort/quietness..
    peace..

Thats normal to get vibrations, i fitted a group N upper gearbox mount back when i had mine and this got rid of most the vibrations
