Best rear pads

Got DS2500s in the front but I think 80 odd quid is a bit rich for rear pads of the same model so what is everyone running? I'm going towards mintex at the moment but I see Brembo and OMP also do a pad?
I dont want to fit EBC *stuff pads or ultimax is i've read they are gash

Standard will be fine mate, the rear brakes do fuck all to slow you down really

As above, the braking power from the rear won't be enough to warrant spending more than standard.

i just buy mintex items off ebay dirt cheap

Thats what I was thinking - its the same on the clio, the rears do naff all really hence the disks last ages. The disks came with some cheapy pads, reckon its worth the £20 on some brembos though or mintex?

    im running delphi rear pads
tbh as long as they slow the rear enough it doesnt try and overtake the front your ok

ive never on the cars ive had done anything to the rears ive had several different brake setups on the front and thb never felt the rears needed upgrading once i actually started driving hard

Ill fit the ones that came with the disks then might as well save £20 if it not needed

Depends on how you drive, what your doing with the car and how hard you push the car. I ran EBC Yellows in the rear of my saxo, with 4pots on the front running EBC Yellows.

I always used to lock the rears with standard pads on track (mintex/pagid)
It's hard to explain but the car felt alot better under braking with the uprated rear pads, seemed to stay "straight" if thats the way i can describe it. I noticed a difference thats for sure.

If your uprating the front to brake harder/later obviously your going to be applying more pressure to the rear, so they will be doing more work

Each to their own though, its not a must have upgrade.

I'm on standard OEM disks up front with DS2500 and the car will be used exclusively on track, and driven hard. In two minds what do to really, its not an expensive change but even so if its not needed I'd rather leave it. Difficult decision

These are what I have in mind but are they just a replacement road pad?

    You been on track before?

I wouldn't buy those pads. Just look oem, most i would pay for oem rear pads is £10.

Not with this VTR i'm afraid no. Are the yellows any good then?
All I can seem to find is mintex standards and I've seen some OMP pads too which are about the same price as the EBC greenstuffs on ebay.

I always advise people when going on track for the first time with a car, to get a feel and see if they need to start upgrading stuff.

EUROCARPARTS for my standard pads, sure the pagids were £9 last time i bought some, been like 2 years however.
Stay away from ebc green and red stuff they are not designed for track use.

I highly rate the yellows, ran them for a while now, run them front and rear on my EK9.

The code for the yellow rears is DP4458/2, you will struggle to find them listed but they do exist. Should be £45ish iirc.

I would track it with some cheap rear OEM pads and see what you think, then go from there.

Problem is the pads that came with the discs are extra cheapo ones, I might as well fit good rears as I only want to do the job once you see.
