Hey, just want some people to shed some light on this. I've looked around and can't find much info.
Before you say anything, yes I'm fully aware of the legal side of things using HID's, and the heat produced from them, etc. Please don't remind me of this.
Anyway - as you know, fitting HID's into a reflector headlamp is a daft idea due to the beam pattern not being dispersed properly, thus blinding oncoming traffic. But I've recently found a type of HID bulb that is 'D2R'? Apparently, the 'R' means that they can be used in reflector housing as they have a physical shield block under the bulb that stops the beam being thrown upwards, creates a clean cut-off and stops blinding people.
I've looked around but I can't see many people talk about these D2R HID bulbs. Does anyone know anything about them? I'd buy some projectors but I've got more important things I need to save up for. Basically I'd like to use HID's in my reflector lamps without blinding the poor bastards driving towards me.
You can get H4 to D2R adapters, so I'm guessing that would be ideal. Has anyone had any experience with these?
Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated
