    there are 2 types of shaft, straight, and tapered, as a rule... mk1's have straight, and mk2's have tapered.. unless changed at later date, but during the crossover years then you will have to look to find out, and VTS shafts have the abs rings

    The part that's straight or tapered is that the end that goes in box or hub
    Sorry to be a pain!! Is there any way I can find out weather my box is a vtr or vts
    As my cars been converted to a vts but I'm not sure about box?? Thanks

    the hub end is where you will see the difference, or find the part no. on the gearbox and check it against citroen?

    also you cant really tell what box you have via what shafts you have... best looking at part no

    Thanks for the help iv just pulled shaft out and seals ok but when shaft is in box you can
    Move it uP and down I'm guessing bearing in box is shot!!

    sounds like driveshaft bearing mate, can get them off ebay for like £15 or so
