passed my driving test on monday and i have realized the biting point on my clutch is really high is there any way this could be adjusted or is my clutch going to need replacing ?
biting point
-
#1
-
#2Different cars have different biting points so it's a difficult one to answer.
-
#3Probably the later, but try adjusting it anyway see if its better
-
#4these are self adjusting though aren't they? can they be adjusted?
-
#5Not in my experience, theres a nut and a locknut on all the ones i've had/worked on and for adjustments
-
#6Not self adjusting.
-
#7oh ok, i think now that my clutch release arm is slightly bent which is causeing a stiff pedal and slippage when over 3k revs
-
#8saxo has high biting point anyway, well mine does. well not anymore, its nearly touching floor as the clutch has gone lol
-
#9my sisters c1 had the highest biting point in the world, she ended up needing a new cluch, so u might have to fork out for a new one mate
-
#10There's a nut and lock nut on the end of the clutch cable. Backing it off will lower the bite. Trial and error.
-
#11On standard Saxo clutch you need to set the pedal level with the brake pedel. Saxo biting point is not high.
On other after Market/ competion clutches they could be different due to the clutch cover angles,
But it be a standard clutch so check where the pedel sit at the moment. Make sure it level with the brake pedel. -
#12I have my clutch pedal sitting higher than my break pedal, I like the biting point about half way up, you can put it where you want it lol.
-
#13No you shouldn't do that, as you can over press it or under press it. And stuff.
Should be set correctly. -
#14Having like you have it, means the release bearing will be pressed against the covers hard when off the clutch
The clutch cable needs setting correctly. -
#16Paseo clutch in a 1.1? Hmm don't think you should do that.....
Would stick to the normal clutch a set it right.
As you want a snappy clutch? In a 1.1 every day car?
