lambda sleeve need to be blanked?

    Does a lambda sleeve need to be totally sealed?

    Basically my 2nd lambda I have placed in a piece of metal tubing but it isnt threaded in so its sealed and has a hole at the other end....i thought this would be normal so it can read clean air?
