Ok so save posting again i changed my thread this morning. Basically i was asking a few question about de-pinning a mark two.
However, today I thought ah sod it, have a go.
I have some tips for people who want to do it because when I searched there was lots of threads about it but with people saying pull the pin left, pull it right, pull it out...... I hope to clear it up a bit and suggest what needs to be done. Remember im talking about a mark two here.
1. You Dont need to remove the whole locking mechanism, I managed to do it today simply by prizing the vertical locking pin out of where its sat, with only the door cards off.
How i did it:
I basically just put my hand inside the door ( door card off and peel back the white sound deadening stuff ) and using a small hand mirror, looked at the angle that the pin was sitting. Now I can tell you that the direction the pin needs to be pulled is Toward yourself, as in, towards your chest.
2. It IS fiddly. It took me a lot longer on the first door working out where it had to be pulled. Once I done it, i completed the second door in about 5 - 10 mins.
3. Despite pulling towards you it might not come away. I was looking at the pin in the mirror, convinced that it needed to be pulled toward me, It did, but its stubborn and will need some patience.
Also what I did to work it loose was get a screw driver, and wedged it behind the vertical pin as low as possible and then just work it toward me... What this does is just pulls the vertical pin out, then eventually if you look in the mirror again you may see it has moved enough for you to pull it out.
4. The situation when you de pin is this:
You CAN lock car with key as normal, and it will use central locking to lock the other door and boot. (Providing you have CL)
5. You CAN lock car with keyfob as normal, all doors lock.
6. When inside the car, the only way of locking and unlocking it (in case of car jacking) is with the keyfob.... Keep a spare battery inside your car just incase you ever run out LOL.
Final thing that has occured. If i lock my car with all doors shut, works perfect (with fob or key). However, ive noticed that if a door is open, the central locking will lock, then unlock its self immediately. Not really a problem though. But i thought id mention it.
