Engine temp too low.. Please Help!

   Head gasket went put in new HG, timing belt and 8 valves..
   The car runs ok now but it is not reaching temperature. I have cleaned the rad and the pipes and the inlet/outlet for the rad both get hot, but when I drive it to work the temp. does not leave the white. What could be causing this and is it ok to drive to work it is a 4 mile trip

   check your temperature sensor and thermostat

   thank you for your help...i changed my thermostat i had a spare it is running at about 50% on the temp now. Sometimes when I drive it goes about to about 70% is this normal. Or have I still got gunk in radiator or something else...
   The vehicle seems to rev when standing too, this is something it never use to do... and the fan is not coming on when left stationary...
