Steering Problem

    Hi Guys ,

Ive picked up yet another problem with the Saxo this morning driving to work!

The problem is that now whenever i accelerate , the steering wheel shakes quite violently! This happens when im going through gears up to about 50mph and then stops when driving along at a constant pace. Whenever i put my foot down to accelerate it shakes again!

Any ideas what it could be?

This is really frustrating me now!

Jack the car up and shake the wheels you've probably got play in a ball joint

as said check ball joints and the steering joints

ok i will do that , my only worry is as it is only when i am accelerating or decelerating it may be something more severe ?

    Get the wheels balanced.

as said its likely it just needs the wheels balancing

Update : Jacked the car up yesterday , checked for any play and found that the wheels move like half an inch from side to side! :O

Anyone know what this could be and if it is serious?

    Please help!

    Track rod end...

i thought signs of a worn track rod end were only vibration at higher speeds?

Get someone to shake it whilst you have a look it will most likely be track rod end
