fitting new rear hub to gti / vts beam

    trying to fit brand new rear hubs to my gti rear beam, however they are VERY TIGHT going onto the stub axle, should they be this tight to fit on? ill literally have to hammer them on gently by the looks of it?

    I had this problem when i put new rear hubs on my re-furbed axle.

    I gently tapped the hub onto the stub axle until it sat flush

    ive done this now also.... did you have any issues with tre race of the bearing on inside/outside coming loose and dropping out when doing this?

    No, Nothing came out mate

    Has the race fallen out of yours then?

    yes mate, have refitted and seems ok, havent got a 32mm socket handy at home to tighten hub nut so when spinning hub (axle is off car) there is a little play and noise, but hoping when the hub nut is tightened this will go?

    Well not sure as you could've disturbed the bearing race when it came out

    Only way to see is tighten it up and see if you get any play etc
