It sounds like your car has gone into what`s called limp home mode. The ecu has detected a problem & put the car into that mode to save any damage to the engine. As said get it hooked up to diagnostics machine,so you can retrieve a fault code/s.

Yes most garages have a diagnostics machine, unless you know a mate with a plug in scanner that is.

ok thanks for your help, could it literally be anythin?

ok so engine light is now constantly on but car seems to be runnin fine.

you have to get the error code read on a diagnostic unit to know what it is causing the issue there is no way anyone on here could tell you whats wrong with "ecu flashing no power" to go on could be a million and 1 things best thing to do is whether the power is back or not get it read to prevent any further damage you never know you luck may just be a sensor out but if its a major problem the more you drive it the more it will cost when you do get it done

Constantly on means DO NOT DRIVE - the ecu has spotted, what it deems as, a serious error. Get it to the most local garage asap.

its the cataylic converter, is it safe on drive with this? the mechanic said it's fine aslong as i keep revs low Just ordered part now.

My bad, Constantly on means, DRIVE BUT GET TO A GARAGE WHEN YOU CAN. Flashing means do not drive. I messed up there.

Defo Catalyst? The only way to confirm is to have the exhaust gas meter lobbed into the exhaust. If the mechanic has just done it based on the faults codes it will have thrown up a 2nd lambda fault. Which could mean that actually the second lambda is knackered.

must be because somthings been rattling and i thought it was just the exhaust as it wasnt fitted perfectly. but he sed it will be the cataylic converter ratllling about in there or some shit i dont know too much about engine n that so yeh

right i aint waitin no longer im going mcdonalds il trust the mechanic ha

ummm. Okay well we'll just have to see when the replacement cat goes on. It sounds more like the cat wasn't fitted snuggly and gas could escape before reaching the 2nd lambda which would also throw a fault.

    Good luck with it.
